Seachtain na Gaeilge 2018

A number of events took place in the school in the past two weeks chun ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ a cheiliúradh. On Tuesday, a group of 2nd years took part in the ‘Gaeilge le Chéíle’ parade in the city together with a number of other Irish-medium schools and it was a lovely occasion for all. A poster Competition was held between students where all students designed a poster with an Irish theme, sean-fhocal or phrase.

The 6th class from Gaelscoil Charraig Uí Leighin paid a visit on Thursday and we had an open air céilí for Gaelscoil and Gaelcholáíste students. It was a thoroughly enjoyable occasion and it is quite clear that there’s plenty of talented and enthuasiastic Irish dancers in our midst.

Each class had a ‘Tráth na gCeist’ which was won by the ‘Tigh Corcra’. Congrats to all who took part.

RED Fm visited on Thursday at lunchtime. Lots of students took the opportunity to speak on the radio and these pieces will be broadcast in the near future. Bígí ag éísteacht!

Finally, Congratulations to each and every student on the wonderful effort that was made to take part in ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ and make it a memorable occasion.
