An important milestone in the life of Gaelcholáiste Charraig Uí Leighin has been reached as we celebrate our 10th year during this academic year of 2025-26, and we have so much to celebrate and to be proud of. We are all extremely proud of what has been achieved in Gaelcholáiste Charraig Uí Leighin over the past ten years. We now have a state-of-the art building, we have an outstanding staff who have created a very special sense of community in our school, our students have always been second-to-none in the way they carry themselves, and are always superb ambassadors for our school. We have had great success at the Young Scientist Competition, on the sports fields, in debating, and in many other activities. The list is endless. It is said that what is set in the Spring is harvested in Autumn, and this is very true of Gaelcholáiste Charraig Uí Leighin. Our high standards are a result of the strong foundation that was set from our early days, and this pursuit of excellence continues to this day, and is the reason why Gaelcholáiste Charraig Uí Leighin is a thriving school today. Congratulations to everyone who travelled some or all of the journey with us over the past ten years, and we are looking forward to the continued growth and development of the school in the future.
We had a memorable day on December 15th 2025, when our Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, visited the school to be with us for our 10 Year Celebration. He acknowledged the hard work it had taken to reach this point in our journey, and the incredible work undertaken in preparing for the occasion itself also. Our students were central to every part of the occasion, with each year group represented during the celebration. Special acknowledgement must be given to our musicians, who performed incredibly, and added so much to the day. The spirit of Gaelcholáiste Charraig Uí Leighin was very evident, and it was a truly marvelous opportunity for all who were involved in the school over the past ten years to gather together to celebrate this important milestone, as the sun shone down on us all in our fantastic building in Ard na Cloiche!
